Land Rover Discovery Landmark Edition
What's the news?
Land Rover is celebrating 30 years of the Discovery with a special 'Landmark' edition.
Way back in 1989, we saw the first expansion of the Land Rover range beyond just the Range Rover and the 90 and 110 (before they were called Defender) when Land Rover took a Range Rover chassis (with its coil-sprung suspension) and plopped onto it a new body (with those distinctive 'Alpine' roof glass panels) with an interior designed by Jasper Conran. The first Discovery was born and it has claimed more than 300 global awards and notched up 1.7 million sales since 1989.
To celebrate those three decades, the Discovery Landmark gets a Dynamic Exterior Pack, which includes a more purposeful front bumper design and Narvik Black mesh grille and fender vents. Narvik Black nameplate scripting on the bonnet and tailgate is also joined by unique Landmark badging.
The Landmark also gets front and rear panoramic roofs, front fog lights, 'Hi-Line' brake lights, privacy glass, and massive 20-inch gloss black wheels.
Inside, there's grained leather finished in either Ebony black or Acorn brown, a satin-brushed finish for the centre console, and a 380W Meridian Sound System. Rawdon Glover, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover UK, said: "The Discovery Landmark Edition is a compelling package. Taking our best-selling SD4 and SD6 Discovery SE models and adding key design features that resonate well with our customers, results in a genuine value proposition that befits a celebration special edition."
You can have the Landmark edition with either the 240hp four-cylinder or 306hp V6 diesel engines. All come with Terrain Response Control which picks the best traction control, suspension, and diff-lock settings for the ground you're trying to cover, a 3,500kg towing capacity, and a 900mm water wading depth. There's even the option of a 'Pet Pack' that makes hauling around your four-legged friend safer and more comfortable.
