Watch The LIVE Unveiling Of The 2020 Land Rover Defender Here

After numerous teasers, spy shots and even leaked pictures, it’s now time to see the all-new Land Rover Defender in the flesh.

The live unveiling of the British SUV will take place at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, in front of the media, at 9:50 CEST (3:50 am EST), and the live stream video is right at the bottom of this page.

A true rival to the likes of the new-gen Mercedes-Benz G-Class, the 2020 Defender will, like its predecessor, be a true off-road warrior.

The new Defender will be offered in three body styles, named 90, 110 and 130, and pack permanent all-wheel drive, a Configurable Terrain Response system with a Wade function, an optional Active Locking rear differential and a few other features that will make it feel at home even at the harshest of environments.

Visually, it’s in line with the carmaker’s latest models, as some leaked images revealed a couple of days ago. The traditional grille has been replaced by a smaller one with a horizontal slat and incorporated company logo, there are pronounced C pillars, a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, four square taillights and, more importantly, a modern, yet boxy design that should be sit very well indeed with the original’s fan base.

The interior has been designed from scratch and is up to date with a new dashboard panel, infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and multi-function steering wheel. It’s still utilitarian, though; for instance, the HVAC controls are big so drivers won’t need to take their gloves off to change the temperature.

Powertrain options include a 296 HP 2.0-liter four, a 395 HP 3.0-liter six and 398 HP plug-in hybrid. Despite the bad publicity they got in recent times, Land Rover is sticking with diesel engines and will offer a 2.0-liter with either 197 or 237 HP and a 296 HP 3.0-liter.
