Pricing! Range Rover Sport gains new straight-six engine in SA
Land Rover South Africa says the Range Rover Sport is now available locally with a new electrified 3,0-litre straight-six petrol engine.
The powertrain is offered locally in two outputs, each combining a twin-scroll turbocharger with an electric supercharger (which the British firm claims “virtually eliminates turbo lag”) and a 48 V mild-hybrid system.
The Range Rover Sport P360 generates 265 kW and 450 N.m, while delivering a claimed fuel consumption of 9,2 L/100 km and a sprint from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 6,6 seconds. The P360 is offered in S, SE and HSE specification levels, with prices starting at R1 369 000.
Available exclusively in new HST form, the P400 version makes 294 kW and 550 N.m, facilitating a sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in a claimed 5,9 seconds (and a top speed of 225 km/h). A claimed fuel consumption matching that of the P360 above is listed. Pricing for the HST kicks off at R1 874 600.
The new HST model features carbon-fibre trim on the bonnet, grille, side vents and tailgate. There’s a choice of two alloy wheel designs and five exterior colours, while red brake callipers ship standard (a grey anodised option also available).
Inside, you’ll find 16-way power-adjustable front seats featuring an updated colour pattern with suede-cloth detailing on the steering wheel and gear lever. Land Rover’s “advanced” cruise control system, with a “stop-and-go” function and steering assistance, is also included.
